Help Lazy Fifty make more awesome original kiwi music.

Gisborne

Covid has been tough on bands, lockdown has meant no gigs and that means no appearance fees.

One positive is it gave Lazy Fifty loads of time to write new material for their next album, which they are recording at Round Head Studios in Auckland and I'm telling ya, it ain't cheap!

We'd really appreciate any help you can give us.

We're doing a free gig at Neighbourhood Pizzeria (in Gizzy) to say thanks to everyone that's helped us along the way, on Sunday 29 November 5-7pm. It's family friendly so bring along the whole crew.

--

Lazy Fifty's original music harks back to the blues rock of the 70s, enhanced with a healthy dose of funk, rocking rhythms and impressive guitar.

They have released three albums Petra et Volvo (2017), Fifty Shades of Lazy (2018) and The Broken Stone (2020) and are currently recording their next album at Round Head Studios in Auckland, New Zealand.

The name Lazy Fifty comes from the saying of an old friend. When he asked you for a ‘lazy $20’, you knew you’d never see the money again. That was a long time ago and our friend is no longer around. In memory of him, and allowing for inflation, they are now ‘Lazy Fifty’.

Use of funds

To help fund the recording of Lazy Fifty's next album at Round Head Studios in Auckland. It's really expensive to record there, but if we do by some chance get more than we need, we will use it to make some epic videos to go with the songs.

Our new album was released today!  17 November 2021

Our new album 2021: A LAZY ODYSSEY was released today, thanks for your help last year with your donation which helped us to get it made.

2021: A LAZY ODYSSEY is an album of wonderful contrasts with the instrumental ‘Polly’s Lament’, ubiquitous classic rock anthems ‘Wait For Me’, ‘Perdition Dance’, ‘My Hand (Peaky Blinders)’, ‘Pretty As A Flower’ and ‘No No No’, the heavier System of Down-esque ‘Falling In To You’ with interesting time changes and blues rock number ‘I Don’t Know Who I Am’.

The album title 2021: A LAZY ODYSSEY is a play on the title of the 1968 movie 2001: A Space Odyssey. In keeping with the movies theme the album is introduced with Lazy Fifty’s take of the classical instrumental Also Sprach Zarathustra (R Strauss), the movie’s theme song (check out the timpanis, epic). However, this is definitely not a concept album!

If you'd like to you can buy the album on vinyl and t-shirts on our website www.lazyfifty.com.

Please, please, please follow, like, subscribe, buy and share on all the usual outlets. https://smarturl.it/LF2021odyssey. It would really help us to get our online stats up, plus you'll get to hear a pretty banging new kiwi rock album!
