    Hey all just thought we would give you an update on how Alana is doing.

    Well, her LAST CHEMO IS DONE AND DUSTED!!! Woop woop! Safe to say we are all elated for her. She has done so incredibly well, she has definetely kicked cancer in the backside!!!!!!

    So on behalf of Alana and her family we would like to thank all of you who helped Alana through this journey, from those of you who donated, those of you that cooked for her, sent her encouraging messages, kept her company, those of you that fundraised for her, even shave their heads for her! Honestly the list goes on. It has been amazing. Totally blew Alana away to the extent everyone went to. So this is a MASSIVE thank you, to you all. There isn't enough words to express the gratitude we have from everyone's support. It's been incredible. From everyone's help Alana will get to enjoy a much well deserved holiday in March to Australia!

    Alana you are a survivor, a conqueror and we are so proud of you. Forever an absolute legend.

    And in Alana's words, today marks the first day of the rest of her life! CANCER FREE!

  • Over halfway!

    Hey everyone just thought we would give you all a quick update on how Alana is doing.

    She is now over halfway through her chemotherapy treatments!!!! Yay!!! Aside from suffering from some side effects, she has handled them tremendously. She may not feel it all the time, but she really is so brave and strong. So she has a few more chemotherapy sessions to go and she is waiting on some results which will determine her next step in 2016 once chemotherapy has finished.

    This lady is so determined to stay well, she has even dragged a few of us along to some gym classes (and let me tell you, they were not the easiest). Her strength and determination to keep pushing through and fighting really is so inspiring.

    This is also another HUGE thank you as donations are still coming in and honestly it is amazing. Forever grateful. Keep sending those positive messages through to her over summer. She does see them all.

    Hope everyone has a safe and happy Christmas and New Year. We will be back in the New Year with another update on our fabulous friend :-)

  • Surgey over.. Chemo next

    Hey everyone just letting you all know that Alana has been recovering great back at home, from her surgery last month.

    The next step in her journey is to start chemotherapy sessions which start next week. As you can imagine the thought is very scary, however we all know this amazing woman will fight through this!

    Just on behalf of Alana, her son and her family, thank you to everyone who has sent messages, food, donations, supported, or helped out with our amazing raffle we pulled together for her!! The raffle was a great success! So thanks everyone :-)

    Please send positive thoughts and strength her way whenever you can to help her through these next few months that will prove to be very tough. While we all enjoy our summer break this lovely lady will be in the midst of her treatment. It's all the support that has helped her through so far, so keep it up! She may not always reply, but she sees and feels everyone behind her.

    Our aim is to send this beautiful lady off a much deserved family holiday once her chemotherapy sessions are over! So please help spread the word if you can!

  • Thank you for joining our fight!

    Hey everyone, just letting you know that Alana has had her surgery today, and all went well. Thank you for everyones kind words, support and strength that you sent her today. She will be staying in Lower Hutt hospital until some point next week. And then back home for a few weeks recovery before the next part of her journey starts with chemotherapy.

    So please keep her in your thoughts and if you haven't already wish this amazingly brave woman a happy birthday!!

    Also if anyone is free this weekend head down to the corner of Market Street and Emerson Street where some of Alana's friends will be selling tickets to our amazing raffle we pulled together and they will be hosting a sausage sizzle, music and entertainment with all proceeds going towards Alana! There's even a BBQ to win! So get on down there and show your support if you can!

    Just wanted to send a small message out. All the kind words and generosity of everyone who has donated has not gone unnoticed and on behalf of Alana and her family we would like to say thank you.

    The outpouring of love shown by not only the Hawkes Bay community but all over New Zealand, and also in parts all over the globe, has been overwhelming and Alana feels incredibly grateful to have received such immense support.

    Her next step is surgery down in Wellington in just over a weeks time, so please keep her in your thoughts, will do the next update after that.
