We're working on getting a standing chair so Jacob can enjoy the freedom of getting out with his friends and do everyday things.
Bay of Plenty
Jacob needs your help:
It is with great regret that we are posting to inform you that after comprehensive consultation with Jacob's medical / specialist team over the holidays it has been decided that Jacob's is no longer a candidate for a standing wheelchair due to a deterioration in his health.
Jacob has entered a phase where standing no longer looks possible.
We are understandably GUTTED but see that this is not possible.
It has always been our goal for Jacob to be an ordinary boy doing ordinary things.
He loves the outdoors, sports and interacting with his peers by being a part of everyday activities.
With this in mind we have decided to continue with our fundraising ventures by redirecting the funds towards an all- terrain motorized wheelchair.
This will enable Jacob to enjoy everyday activities that we take for granted and give him a freedom he currently does not have.
We thank you in advance for you understanding of the situation and your support in continuing to reach our goals.
I am Katrina Lane, Jacobs Mum, I would love to see my son enjoy the everyday things like everybody else. I'd love to hug my son and getting this chair will enable us to do that, Jacob will also have a lot more freedom. He can play with his friends enjoy sports and be able to the things he used to do. No longer will people be looking down on him and it would also help with his health and well being, as being in a chair all day makes it hard to breath. I would give the world to change places with my son. As a mother the everyday things are difficult with a child in a chair where as if we had the standing chair the possibles are endless. please take a moment to give to this great cause. Thanks in advance
