Give a little for Georgia and Lani

  • Thank you all

      24 August 2015

Hi everybody, Brenden here, father of Georgia and Lani, and partner to Amy.

I would like to deeply say thank you to you all, for helping my family through this time in our lives, to have been involved in helping my girls and I with support. To have helped us take the strain of what we have and are going through.

It's true to say, we are struggling with everything, but having had help from good people coming forth with thoughts and wisdom and financial help, has made this time and period in our lives easier, and for myself less stressful on levels I had not seen coming.

The girls have been my rock and are so happy being little girls. Big questions are asked, and we work through these things as best we can.

We are taking small steps each day. This year my health has been to say the least, not very good. But now it is starting to improve.

My goals are for the girls to be settled and happy and functioning well, with good support, and myself to be healthy.

When the give a little page was set up, prior to Amy passing, it was a strange, new concept for us, having been very quiet about what we were going through, and we struggled to get our head around it. As time passed, and our lives unfolded the way they have, we really needed some support, I really can't say in words alone to say thank you and how much you all have helped our family be able to function. My girls are young and don't realise the impact you all have had on our lives, helping the way you have. I do, and I am so thankful. You all have made a huge difference to my girls and I.

Thank you so much for being a friend, a friend's friend or a friend of a friend, a caring person in our community that just wanted to help, or someone from around the world that cared. Someone that has been through something similar. Everybody. You have all helped my family to move forward in this time.

    Thank you all.

  • Happy New Year and Thank YOU!

      31 December 2014

We would like to extend our gratitude to all you generous donors who have helped Brenden and the girls this year. It means a lot to him to see how many people have helped. This money will go towards Georgia and Lani's future and help Brenden with his costs of raising two girls on his own. We hope you have a great new year and thank you again. Greg and Miriam on behalf of Brenden.

      Hi there,

I know this is irregular but I'd like to offer help in another form. I'm a qualified nanny and dance teacher in Wellington and have found myself with a lot of free time as the year winds down. If I'm able to help with childcare at all (free of charge, of course) I'd love to donate in that way. If Brenden or a family member would like to contact me, please email chloe@mudge.co.nz and I'll send my phone number.

All the best to the family and especially Brenden and the children this holiday season.

      Regards, Chloe Mudge.

Kia ora, this is very sad news. I know the family through a mutual dear friend who lives in Australia and is desperate to contact Brenden - can anybody help me with a contact address for him please? You can PM me and I will forward it to her: lilyamyindia@hotmail.com

      Thanks, Lily McSporran

      Hi there,

We are really sorry to hear about this news and we would also love to donate in another way if possible.

We own a number of community focused dining venues around Wellington and would love to take some pressure off Brenden by sending him vouchers to some of the venues so he can take his family out for dinner during this difficult time.

If this is something you feel is appropriate please do not hesitate to email me at will@upstreamhospo.co.nz

It is great to see such a fantastic effort by all of those who have in one way or another helped Brenden and his family through this time.
