Ben is excited about wearing the Silver Fern for New Zealand at the U23 World Rowing Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, July 2017.

Waikato

Having been selected to represent New Zealand in the Men’s U23 Eight as their coxswain at the World Rowing Championship in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. My journey as a New Zealand Coxswain is just beginning.

As a result I have now relocated to Cambridge so that I can be a part of the High Performance programme and attend trainings with the crew easier than having to travel to and from home (Tuakau). Training is up to three times a day, every day until we depart early July.

I need your help to wear the Silver Fern.

Tour Costs

$7,000 which includes airfares, food, accommodation, boat hire and uniforms.

Support Costs

$2,500 which includes travel, fuel and accommodation

I look forward to wearing the silver fern and representing my family, school, community and country with pride.

I hope that through my selection I will be able to help inspire current and future “Sacred Oarsman” to reach for their dreams and continue building on the “Sacred Oarsman’s” traditions too.

Use of funds

These funds will be put towards helping cover training and the tour costs to the U23 World Rowing Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, Tour Dates 9 – 25 July 2017.
