Help for BJ and Rachel to start over post house fire.

On the 24th of November, a house fire destroyed Rachel and BJ's house. They lost everything and need to start over again.

Canterbury

BJ and Rachel had only recently moved in together into the Clayton Station cottage where BJ works. This was their first place together and unfortunately hadn't organised insurance yet. They have lost everything and need to start over. Some of the items in the house were borrowed until they could get their own things.

To everyone who knows BJ and Rachel, I'm preaching to the choir but they are both amazing.

BJ is the quintessential Bloke, he hunts, fishes, dives, plays rugby, helps out his family and friends. He's not good with emotions and isn't the type to say he cares but he shows it in other ways. He has always been the Provider in our family, the brother you turn to when you need a hand with something or some meat for the freezer. He has lost all his hunting gear, all that's left of the firearms are metal barrels. He is the first person to help someone else and he is finding it incredibly hard to accept help from others in his time of need. It goes against his grain.

Rachel is wonderful, she puts up with my brother which is a feat in itself. She's warm, kind, patient and funny and I love having her in my family. She's the local Ravensdown rep in our area and she's always first on the scene to help out - she's a great match for my brother. She gets out amongst it with the boys and has become a hunter herself. I think girls have a lot more attachment and memories to their possessions and for Rach to lose so much of her precious things has been heart breaking to watch.

These two are always the ones who help others and it would be so amazing if we could help them out now. The money you provide will go towards rebuilding their household possessions they have lost and repaying the other people who's possessions they were borrowing that were destroyed. It's a huge job but anything you can spare would be greatly appreciated. They have both worked so hard to get to where they are and its devastating to see ashes where furniture and possessions used to be.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and wishing you all a wonderful festive season!

Once again, thank you - Lots of love, BJs big sister, Gem xx
