Helping Isaac to reach new goals with more intensive therapy!
Papamoa Beach, Papamoa
We are looking for support to continue Isaac in an intensive US based therapy program.
Isaac was born prematurely and suffered a severe brain injury from low oxygen at birth, he also has Soto's Syndrome, both of these diagnoses come with many associated symptoms. Aside from this, Isaac is one of the happiest kids on earth.
Here in NZ we get good disability support, but resources are limited. So if parents want more intensive personalised therapy for their children, this often means seeking overseas support and it is usually thousands of dollars.
Most importantly, these therapies work. Isaac started with an Australian based programme when he was 18 months old, through to around 8 years old, during these years of therapy he achieved so much that traditional medicine said he never would.
After having some time off and just enjoying life, a year ago, Isaac's mum could see that he was getting frustrated at trying to communicate better, as well as some physical goals he was trying to progress with, so she decided to embark on a US based programme, Doman International. It has been amazing, everyone around Isaac can see he is so much more engaged, he is becoming more verbal, he is learning to read and much more.
We really want to keep Isaac going to give him the best chance to succeed. He is a gorgeous kid and well loved in his community!
All money will go to Isaac's ongoing therapy and related costs associated with this.
Funds to be paid to Isaac's mum Shelley Merrie
