Help Aotearoa/NZ's only Bulgarian Folk Choir travel to Bulgaria!

Medena Ensemble is Aotearoa/NZ's only Bulgarian Folk Choir, dedicated to preserving, developing and uplifting the living tradition of Bulgarian musical culture through live performance.
Bulgarian folkloric singing is a unique style requiring dedication and cultivation. In August this year ten members of Medena plan a study tour to Bulgaria, to perform and gain knowledge to bring back and share with the community here.
It is our honour to represent Aotearoa/NZ in an international collaboration with the long standing New York Bulgarian women’s choir, Yasna Voices, led by Vlada Tomova, at the phenomenal and enduring Koprivshtitsa Festival, from 8-10th August 2025.
Any contribution is deeply valued as we prepare for this extraordinary opportunity.
Use of funds
Donations will help our members cover their air travel expenses, accommodation and touring costs.
