Help Kerry's family in his Search & Rescue!

  • Update for 18/03/2014

      18 March 2014

UPDATE: The Navy vessel located & managed to board the Erie late last night (Monday 17th) We were devastated to hear that there was no sign of Kerry or any obvious clues to his whereabouts onboard. We must hold hope that Police examination of the boat may have some answers. This is expected to happen sometime tomorrow (19th March) Family are frustrated, and exhausted at the ordeal. We understand there are processes, but we only wish the boat went out 4-5days ago, before the storm. The support, well wishes & donations from friend's, family & public have been hugely appreciated during this hard time. Thank you from the bottom of our heart's Fleur

A Navy vessel has confirmed they will head out to attempt a rescue of Kerry's boat when the weather clears. At this stage we're hoping this will happen ASAP, potentially tomorrow morning. In the meantime we have a boat & dive team on stand-by ready to attempt a rescue if for some reason the Navy don't. We are extremely appreciative of the offers to help with this & are staying positive that tomorrow we will get the answers we so desperately want. Fleur

UPDATE: After days of pleading, an Orion went up yesterday & Kerry's boat was located 90miles off New Plymouth (Floating!) The family will keep their opinions to themselves at this stage as they are too angry to discuss. There is a ship heading out to retrieve the boat and bring it in. We are still waiting to find out if Kerry is on board, and in what condition... We are still desperately holding onto hope that he is alive. Thank you again for your support, we will update you with further info as we get it. Thanks Fleur

Firstly on behalf of the family, I would like to express a sincere thank you to everyone who has assisted in our search. Please continue to share this page with your networks - The more funds we raise, the more manpower we have to get out there. UPDATE ON THE SEARCH: Yesterday (Thurs 13th March) we had a private plane in the air for 4hours. Visibility was great and they were searching 60miles off shore which is a huge distance! They went from New Plymouth South West to Westport doing coastal searches also. Nothing was found, but we're not giving up. With the generosity of friend's, family & the general public, Today they're heading south west towards the entrance of Milford Sound on the same plane. On the plane are four pilots, a search and rescue spotter and another spotter Allan, who is Kerry's neighbour. We owe Allan a huge thank you as he has been behind he coordination of the private plane. He has put his own life on hold to find Kerry and is putting everything into this search. Thank you everyone - Please spread the word so we can reach our next target goal of $20,000 Thanks Fleur

NEW GOAL $10,000 We originally aimed to raise $5000 in the search for Kerry, however this amount is far from realistic when it comes to the costs associated with the search. Costs for the search are well over this already, and we want to continue, so please keep sharing hue page to help us reach our next goal
