Filming For Freedom

  • We're off to India

      26 September 2013

We are about to fly out for India and its exciting! I can't believe we had everything packed and tested well before departure. A couple of last minute journey's to get extra cables, just in case. I'd hate to think what gear must be taken out on a National Geographic doco.... which I'd love to work on one day! However, we are excited to be travelling to a country that intrigues us both and to work for our favourite cause... helping women and children to freedom. Keep up to date with our post on Facebook.com/Filmingforfreedom.

We started a Facebook Page on Saturday and its so awesome to see many people supporting our cause. Check it out here: https://www.facebook.com/filmingforfreedom I often wonder how we use to fundraise for causes without social media, I did enjoy the cake stalls and the catching up with everyone. But the message would only reach the local community... social media is a great way to share your cause and support others. Thanks, Annette :)

  • First steps to freedom

      4 August 2013

This project has me glued to research, I'm horrified in so many ways yet I'm excited to actually be apart of something meaningful. The thought that we, and you, can somehow make a difference for women and children forced into sex is overwhelming. Any help with funding our journey is so very much appreciated. When we were first asked to be apart of the MAD For Change group and document their journey, I didn't even know sex trafficking was on the three largest criminal industries. DRUGS, ARMS & HUMAN TRAFFICKING! To think young lives are forced into sex, some up to 40 times a day is heart breaking. HIV is rampant, young people robbed of life. I live in NZ and think I've had it pretty good, so time for me to give back by doing what I know best... filming. Annette
