Thankyou all for your help and suggestions to date. I really want some questions answered by John Key. Why are under cap chch quake claims being cash settled instead of being repaired? And why is there an opt-out option for EQR? Surely if EQR deem the repair strategy insufficient to complete repairs with then the damage assessment is inaccurately estimating loss. EQC's commitment according to the act is to repair the damage to an as new state. Cash settling is only benefiting the mortgagee's losses, not the earthquake victims.

We are waiting for information from the Engineers report and hoping to reach the $5000 mark so we can proceed with the sewerage enablement works. Please all continue to spread the word about this cause. We desperately need to get this sorted.

Thankyou all for your generous support to date. We have an engineer visiting the site tomorrow to do an assessment on the floor levels. Hopefully, his report will shadow that of IAG's and show a foundation rebuild is required. EQC still maintains that their settlement of the property is complete and fair. Im not sure how cash settling claims is actually helping anyone that needs to repair their homes as im pretty sure everyone has a mortgage and in a cash settlement, the banks get first dibs on the money.

Thankyou all for your Generosity! What a fantastic start to the fundraising for Paul. I talked with Paul tonight about the cause and how it was going hoping it would give him some hope. For the first time in the process I was concerned about his mental well being. This has really taken a toll on him, and he said he was not just losing hope in the house but also losing interest in the things around him. All he wanted was a place where his grandkids could come visit him.... How do you force a man to leave his home? And if he did, would that dark cloud still follow? I feel I am running out of time.
