Challenge 2015 are a group consisting of Nursing and Dental Students, Volunteers along with a Kiwi Priest. So Far Challenge 2015 have been working hard to get the patients active in reading programmes and physical activity. Our Goal is to receive finances so we can give the patients Nutritional Food, Basic Clothing, Toothbrushes and provide mattresses for sleeping.

Currently Patients are getting meals that have unsustainable amounts of Nutrition. This includes Rice, Rice Noodles or Bread. The Patients could be naked with nothing but concrete floors to sleep on. You can help change this by donating funds so we can purchase sustainable food, basic clothing, Toothbrushes and Mattresses.

Challenge2015

Challenge 2015 are a group of Nursing and Dental Students, Volunteers along with a Kiwi Priest in the Philippines who have the vision to give patients a basic dignity for their lives in the Philippines Mental Hospital. Challenge 2015 have been together since October 2010 and have a five year plan to provide for the 400 Mental Hospital patients. So Far Challenge 2015 have been working hard to get the patients active in reading programmes and physical activity. Through the programmes of Challenge 2015 and the Hospital Staff a lot of patients were discharged in December 2011 for the first time in the history of the hospital. Our Goal is to receive finances so we can give the patients Nutritional Food, Medicine, Toothbrushes, Basic Clothing, and provide mattresses for sleeping. Every Cent Counts towards the final outcome. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

By Challenge 2015 Mental Hospital Appeal

So i (Alivia) leave to head back to New Zealand tomorrow. i have enjoyed my time over here in the Philippines, Meeting so many new people and working in the Mental Hospital. So far we have raised just over $800 New Zealand Dollars to help out with Toothbrushes, Shampoo, Mattresses, Clothes, Medication, and Food. I cant say how thankful i am already with the amount of support i have received. The Patients will benefit so much from this and for me to see the change already in the attitudes of the Patients! It is eye opening! The Patients have so much more energy, are now walking around, engaging in conversations and are really looking like normal human beings! They already have so much more dignity! Seeing the faces of patients when they receive a toothbrush is amazing! i didnt realise a simple toothbrush could bring so many smiles and provide so much entertainment! The Change i have seen is simply amazing and i am still stunned! However this is far from the end and me leaving the Philippines does not mean the mission is complete, This is just the beginning. The Challenge 2015 group are able to carry on the work i have started, but we will need continued support to keep feeding the patients with food and to keep gathering better materials in the Hospital. Every cent does make such a difference and i have seen this first hand! I hope to keep this fundraising page up and running for as long as possible so we can keep providing that continued support for the Challenge 2015 group.
