    We officially launched the Beautiful Beast music video in Christchurch on Saturday August 22nd at The Gallery and Darkroom. Although the project has still not reached it's funding goals, Roya Sadat from Roya Film House in Afghanistan, sent us the final cut to launch in the hope that it would help inspire and engage people. We are all hoping it gains some momentum and we raise the final few thousand dollars! It is an incredible piece of film and has been an incredible journey so far. We are all very excited and somewhat overwhelmed. x

  • The Final Cut!

    Just received the final cut of the Beautiful Beast music video from Afghanistan ... by Roya Film House ???? ??? ????. This project has been almost two years in the making. I can't share it with you right at this moment but we will be launching it in about 5 weeks here in Christchurch. All I can say is that it is breathtaking........ Roya hoped it would help change the image of the Afghan woman. I'm certain it will. Stay posted. xxxx

  • Film award for Greta Yeoman

    A huge congratulations to Christchurch film maker Greta Yeoman who won first prize in the Tertiary section of "Inspiring Stories Film Competition" earlier this month. Greta was inpired by the Beautiful Beast Project and made a short 5 minute film about it. She entered it into the competition and flew to Wellington on Dec 6th to receive her award. Well done Greta. The circle of creativity keeps expanding!!

  • Roya Film House in Post Production Phase

    Excited to announce that the filming for the music video has been finished and Roya Sadat and her crew are in post prodcution phase! Check out the 'behind the scenes' footage link via Youtube.

  • Update for 10/10/2014

    I keep promising to stay on top of updates via this give-a-little site but I'm finding most of the updates are happening via our facebook page so if you do want more info please visit our facebook site too :) ....yes, we have some updates! The last couple of months we have been up north to Hamilton and Auckland and played two more fundraising gigs and raised more money for this project. Roya Sadat and her film crew have started filming despite political and military interruptions getting in the way at times. It's all very exciting! We still need to raise more money so please, please give a little and support the creative industries in both Afghanistan and New Zealand. Thanks!

  • What happens after the music video is made?

    Our aim is to share the story and the music video to as great a reach as possible in order to raise awareness around the importance of female empowerment as well as the importance of creativity in societies. Filmaker Roya Sadat says it is about ""promoting the new face of Afghan women"" powerful stuff. We all believe that the story behind this collaboration will inspire the hearts and minds of people and this will help raise more awareness and attention to the issues facing women in Afghanistan. This is a true collaboration and we are excited that so many people are getting behind this :) Any funds raised post production will go directly to charities run by Kamila Sidiqi. She is the founder of one of the leading charitable organizations in Afghanistan by the name of Parneyan Training Center and Rehabilitation Organization (website: www.ptcro.com). They empower women through vocational training, spread awareness on women's rights and also engage in relief work by distributing food, clothing and other basic commodities. This charity is mainly supported by my various businesses and also they periodically receive funds and donations from donors for their bigger projects.
