About the cause:
Hayden Pritchard & Jonathan Parsons are heading to the IPF Raw World Championships to be held in Russia in June 2013 and need your support to get there. We will also be doing plenty of fundraising external to this page as well as personally contributing to the trip but this gives any and everyone a chance to help us out.
Jono is a Junior-U120kg Lifter, and Hayden an Open-U93kg Lifter. This is their first World Champs were they hope to break NZ Records and finish within the top 3 and top 8 lifters respectively within their categories.
Wristbands will be given for all donations over $5, email me after donating (firstname.lastname@example.org) and I will post one to you! (NZ Only)

Wow! Today we officially hit the $1000 mark!!
Such an awesome milestone, we are so thankful for your generosity it is really appreciated and will go a long way to getting us to Russia and representing New Zealand on the world stage.
We are now only a little over 5 weeks away from the Central Districts Powerlifting Championships and both Jono & I are working hard in training to get the improvements we need.
The Central Districts Powerlifting Championships will be held on the 27th of April at the Powerhouse Gym in Wellington. Both Jono & I will be competing in the morning session so feel free to come along from about 10am to see us on the platform.
Another big event also happened recently - we were filmed by TV3 News! The came along and filmed us doing some lifting as well as interviewed us about the worlds. This is to be aired shortly and I will update you all with a link here once it is aired.
Thanks so much again for all of your generosity, we will be training hard to ensure we do you all proud!
Thanks to Thomas Buchanan of Ellea Sport we are having supporters wristbands made. Wristbands are currently being produced for all donations over $5. Take a look at our images, the wrist bands will look like the long skinny picture you see there. If you email me after donating (email@example.com) then I will post one to you once they are made! I expect this to be completed over the next few weeks. If you have already donated and wish to receive one simply email me from the email address you entered when donating and I will get it sorted for you :)
Have to say a huge thank-you to those who have supported us so far - we have been blown away by the interest shown to date. Just last week I updated because we hit $100 so to hit $500 within a week after that is just awesome.
Plenty of the donations have been from Jono's workmates at FMG - so a huge thank you to those from FMG for your generosity. Its no wonder people love to work for FMG with fellow staff as generous as you guys have been. We are grateful!
A big thanks to everyone else as well - its awesome to know that we have friends, family and supporters who are backing us all the way to Russia. It really is appreciated!
If you have donated already and want to help us out more, some exposure through social media or emails would be great. Just share the link (www.givealittle.co.nz/cause/Suzdal2013) with any family/friends you think may be interesting in supporting us. The more exposure we can get the better!
Again a massive thanks to all you generous people, so much motivation to train harder and get stronger.
Thanks a heap for the donations that have helped us crack the $100 mark. We really appreciate it and are excited as we start seriously cracking into our fundraising for this awesome journey.
Training wise, we have just started on what will be a very intense squat training cycle, that being called 'smolov'. If you didn't guess it yes that's a Russian training template. So for the next four weeks we will be squatting four times a week (the 'base cycle' of the program) with high volume before a deload an embarking into the aptly named 'intense' cycle. This training is aimed at greatly improving the squat and should help the deadlift too (similar muscle groups involved). We won't be slacking on our bench press work though an will continue with a volume day and a heavy lockout work day. Got to build a good strong base this far out from the main event.
Our next big meet before the Worlds will be the Central Districts champs on April 27th, unless Raw Nationals is moved earlier, in any case we have a lot of time to build a good foundation. It should be good!
Thanks to those who have been generous already we really appreciate it an are working hard to ensure we do you and NZ proud come Suzdal in June!
