I have recently been chosen to represent New Zealand amongst 21 other students at The Hague International Model United Nations!
Nationwide
My name is Nadya Fauzia, a Year 13 student at Macleans College whose interests lies in global affairs, law, and economics. With that being said, I have a goal to one day work for international organizations such as the United Nations.
During my school holidays I attended UN Youth’s New Zealand Model United Nations. This nationally recognised event was a four-day simulation of the United Nations, which involved secondary students and tertiary volunteers from all over New Zealand.
While at NZ Model UN, I also applied to The Hague International Model United Nations (THIMUN), the premier Model United Nations conference for high school students hosted in The Hague, The Netherlands. I am fortunate enough to be selected as one of the delegates to represent New Zealand at this prestigious international event. Not only will I attend this conference, but I will embark on a three-week study tour through New York, Berlin, Brussels, and Geneva, visiting world sites and diplomatic missions as we immerse ourselves in different cultures and the future of international diplomacy.
The full cost of this trip is $7600 and I am sustaining this cost independently through part-time work, trying to obtain sponsorship, as well as with the generous help of my friends and the community through fundraising.
Any donations would be greatly appreciated to assist me in attending this amazing opportunity!
