Help out this lady who was scammed
Nationwide
Hilary was scammed out of $2800 when a man offered to rent a house to her which he didn't own. He drove her past the property but said she couldn't view inside it as the previous tenants had not moved out yet, but said she could have the property.
Hilary was forced to sell her New brighton unit when it became clear that she could not afford it.
With accommodation in short supply in Christchurch, and not wanting to miss out, Hilary unwittingly handed over $2800 cash for bond, expenses and rent up front.
When she turned up at the property on moving in day, the door was answered by the real owner of the house, who said she had been duped.
Homeless and with no money for a new bond, Hilary had no choice but to move into a caravan park at $70 a night.
Help me help Hilary to get back the money she has lost.
