Thanks everyone! After sadly losing Riki we set up a Givealittle Page to support a cause that was big for her and thanks to some very generous support just recently we achieved the initial goal and have raised $15,000!

That’s enough to save an elephant and the Elephant Conservation Centre in Laos was able to bring an elephant into the centre - named Mae Khoun Noy which means "The small elephant that brings luck”. Riki would love it! iThis has helped us a lot too. Thanks so much.

So many people have given towards this cause for your Riki - hopefully we can reach the goal in a few more weeks.

  • Thank you on behalf of Riki

      15 December 2016

It's almost 18 months ago that we lost Riki. Needless to say every day has been hard, harder than anything we've ever been through before. I was told at the time that "there are no good days but there's a little bit of good in every day" and every time I see another donation come in and another step towards saving an elephant is taken there sure is a "little bit of good" in my day. I can see Riki smile and hear her saying "cool" in the way she did. Thank you to all who have donated.

Thanks everyone for the continuing kind donations. It helps us to know that even though Riki is no longer with us, such kind generosity continues in her name. The Elephant Conservation Center have advised that they are looking at bringing a pregnant mother named Mae Khoun Noy which means "The small elephant that brings luck". She had one baby already, and is only 27 yrs from Mueang Nguen, a district is in the north of Sayaboury Province next to the Thai border. The owner is due to bring his elephant to the center soon. If only Riki was here...

Please share this page to help us get to the goal. Than you!

Good to see the Elephant Conservation Centre getting some global attention, check out... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/laos/12159543/Meet-the-people-determined-to-save-the-elephants-of-Laos.html

And also good to know we're set to make the first payment in Riki's name of $10,000 which will really help the Elephants in Sayobury. Riki would love it! And we love seeing a cause Riki loved so much gaining publicity. Thank you all so much - we're 2/3 of the way there!

We are so grateful to everyone who has contributed to our goal so far. We are close to half-way. We will get back to those of you we can to say thank you individually.

While we are still so heart-broken and shocked with losing Riki, it is some comfort to know that through her some good is happening. Riki loved elephants (and giraffes). She would be so happy.

Thank you, and please share this page.

Thank you so much for the support so far. The Elephant Conservation Centre have informed us as follows...

If we raise a little bit more we will have what we need to have another mother and baby here at the center for the first year!

We have found some organisations that were also willing to support a pregnant mother. They have spotted enough money to get through the first year. This means that with your help there will most likely be three mothers at the nursery by the end of the year!

We are doing something a bit different from when you were here last time. Starting from October we will have a new program focussing on observing the elephants when they socialise.

Riki would love this! Please keep sharing!
