Help me share a beautiful story of how one of my Kidneys saved my Dad's life. Education and Inspiration for all New Zealanders.
Nationwide
Hello Givealittle,
I wanted to save my Dad's life. Since I can remember, we have both enjoyed a active, healthy and adventurous lives.
My goal is to travel New Zealand and give talks to schools, communities and share awareness on Kidneys and donation. Public speaking training over the last two years and blog writing has inspired me to share my story to more people than just my friends.
Only 33% of people on the wait list for kidneys will recieve a kidney from a donor. That's if they even survive the wait, which is approximately 3-5 years.
Imagine the quality of life you can restore in someone and the lives of their loved ones... Help me grow as a person while speaking to people around New Zealand. I would like to start this trip which starts in Wanaka and loops the North and South Island before schools break for Summer Holidays.
Currently I train people to become snow sports instructors and coach a paralympic athlete. I have traveled the world competing in snowboarding, cycle touring and embracing what our precious lives have to offer.
I will need funds to help pay for transport, accommodation, reading material, power point presentations and further kidney research both from NZ and internationally.
Many thanks,
Richie Johnston
